When it comes to relationships, Remy doesn't mess around. After all, she's learned all there is to know from her mother, who's currently working on husband number five. But there's something about Dexter that seems to defy all of Remy's rules. He certainly doesn't seem like Mr. Right. For some reason, however, Remy just can't seem to shake him. Could it be that Remy's starting to understand what those love songs are all about?

My Review:
After having This Lullaby recommended to me by so many people, I decided to pick it up, give it a chance, and see what would unfold. Sadly, I was let down.

Remy has had her slew of boyfriends. Never happy to settle, but rather run through the motions and drop them in the end. It took one summer, a new boy, and her mothers words to change her outlook on love.

This Lullaby didn't pull me in and take me for a ride. I struggled to get through the pages, but tuck it out to the end. Half way through, I knew how it would end. I could predict most all of the event that lead to the last page. For me, This Lullaby wasn't an adventure or a ride that had me begging for more.

Don't get me wrong. This Lullaby was a great book that had me laughing, but it didn't leave me questioning how it would end. I wasn't pulled in and it didn't hold me attention well.

Overall, I would recommend This Lullaby because the content was wonderful and showed how things change, how people change. It just wasn't for me.

I'm going to give it to one of my US followers.

Aawwww I'm sorry you didn't like it. Sarah Dessen usually has great books, but I've read some of hers that weren't so great. I hate it when you're reading and you know how the ending is going to play out. It takes away the whole point of reading the book. I hope you like the next book you read by her!! :)

This Lullaby is the first book I've ever read by Sarah Dessen and I loved it. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it but maybe some of her other books will be better for you?

It really is a let down when your looking forward to reading a book and you don't end up liking it as much as you had thought you would :( I don't like figuring out the ending either or when the pacing is slow. I have ever readable book by Sarah Dressen but I've heard great things about her! At least the book made you laugh :) That's nice that you're giving it away! Maybe someone else will enjoy it :)

I've read three of her books and Dreamland was my favorite. Sucks that some books don't meet expectations. I recommend Dreamland.

I completely agree with you on this book. It's not one of Dessen's best, but it does have some great moments. I read it recently and though the end was predictable, I think it's worth reading. However much I hate knowing the ending to books, Sarah Dessen makes me laugh so I read it anyway. Hope you read some of her better books! Dreamland is one of her best, though it's rather depressing.

I read this lullaby about a year ago so I don't remember everything but I kind of agree. Dessen has a very light way of writing so I can count on turning to one of her books if I ever want a easier universe to get through (well, until I read dreamland that is...) so I kind of predicted that this lullaby was going to be fluffier than my usual preference. I thought it was an okay read; not the book to chose if you want to get lost, but still nice. Thanks for the giveaway!

I have not read a Sarah Dressen book yet but get them recommended to me all the time! I would probably be in the same boat as you but would still like to give it a try. Additionally but daughter really wants to read one of her books!

Thanks so much!

I always hear so much about Sarah Dessen (I have a couple of friends who love her books), but I haven't read any. I'm not the biggest fan of contemporary. I don't *dislike* it, but it's also never the first thing I reach for on the bookshelves. I dunno what to say. Maybe, when I finally get around to reading some Sarah Dessen, I'll pick up a different book of hers.
