Wishlist & Waiting on Wednesday #23

Wishlist Wednesday is hosted by Pen to Paper

Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins

Summary:
Budding designer Lola Nolan doesn’t believe in fashion . . . she believes in costume. The more expressive the outfit—more sparkly, more fun, more wild—the better. But even though Lola’s style is outrageous, she’s a devoted daughter and friend with some big plans for the future. And everything is pretty perfect (right down to her hot rocker boyfriend) until the dreaded Bell twins, Calliope and Cricket, return to the neighborhood.
When Cricket—a gifted inventor—steps out from his twin sister’s shadow and back into Lola’s life, she must finally reconcile a lifetime of feelings for the boy next door.

Why it's on my wishlist...
I absolutely adored Anna and the French Kiss. The only reason I haven't purchased Lola yet is because I want it in paperback. Gotta love the waiting game...

What's on your wishlist?

This week I'm waiting for.....

by Tiffany Schmidt

To Be Released on October 2, 2012

Summary:

Mia is always looking for signs. A sign that she should get serious with her soccer-captain boyfriend. A sign that she’ll get the grades to make it into an Ivy-league school. One sign she didn’t expect to look for was: “Will I survive cancer?” It’s a question her friends would never understand, prompting Mia to keep her illness a secret. The only one who knows is her lifelong best friend, Gyver, who is poised to be so much more. Mia is determined to survive, but when you have so much going your way, there is so much more to lose. From debut author Tiffany Schmidt comes a heart-wrenching and ultimately uplifting story of one girl’s search for signs of life in the face of death.

Why I'm waiting:
I've read a number of books that deal with cancer and this one sounds like a great book to add to my collection.

What are you waiting for?

I recently finsihed Lola and the Boy Next door and loved it! I didn't think it possible but I enjoyed it more than Anna and the French Kiss.
I am excited about Send me a Sign too.

Here is my wednesday!

You always have such great picks! I've heard great things about Stephanie Perkins. Her books sound really cute, which I would probably think was too cutesy at first and then would totally devour like a rabid animal.

I haven't read either Anna and the French Kiss or Lola and the Boy Next Door, but I guess that just gives me two great books to look forward to! =)

By the way, I play the waiting game, too. ;-) My version is waiting for every book in a series to come out before reading the first one. Yes, I'm very patient. LOL!

This book does sounds really good! My grandmother is a breast cancer survivor, so I'm sure this one would be really touching. Here is my WoW!

I just had to say that this is the same exact reason why I don't have Lola and the Boy Next Door yet. I need the paperback so that it'll match Anna. I'm beginning to think the paperback will never come out.
