Anistasia moves to Brooksville where she meets John. The duo hit it off almost instantly and become best friends before it grows into something more than friendship. While they blossom together they have to go through the daily routine of high school drama and jealous ex's on John's part and over bearing brothers on Anistasia's part. But each struggle seems to hold the two together even more.

Along with the daily high school problems they also have to deal with the mafia hunting down Anistasia, John's mafian father, and the every other weekend street races. Running from bad guys, keeping the cops out of the know how, and trying to stay undetected is proving to be more of a handful when the only person you can trust is also on the run.

My Review:
I was intrigued by the summary and the story was just as good. Toni Sinns wrote an exciting, suspenseful story that I enjoyed reading.

The story opens up to Anistasia's first day of school in a new town. She is getting grins from the guys and glares from the girls as she walks the halls to her first class. After not paying attention and being reprimanded by her teacher in her first class, she gains John's curiosity.

I really liked Anistasia. She is intelligent and cautious of everyone she meets because of her past. The reader isn't well informed of why she is this way until about half-way through the book. There are snip-its and little bits of information here and there, but not a full story. Because of John's persistence in trying to get to know her, she finally breaks down and makes a friend. It isn't long before they start seeing each other as more.

I enjoyed reading this book, however, based on the summary I thought there would be more running, cops, and mob shenanigans. None of that really happened until the last two or three chapters. I'm not complaining because I think there will be more of that in book two, but I wish there was a little more action. I felt like this book really only covered Anistasia and John getting to know each other. Watching them become friends and then fall for each other was fun and shed some light on who they were in the past.

Overall, this was a great first book to a series that will hopefully have lots of action in the future. I will definitely pick up book two and would recommend this to someone who enjoys reading romantic suspense.
