It's the summer before senior year and the alluring Angel is ready to have fun. She's not like her best friend, Inggy, who has a steady boyfriend, good grades, and college plans. Angel isn't sure what she wants to do yet, but she has confidence and experience beyond her years. Still, her summer doesn't start out as planned. Her good friend Joey doesn't want to fool around anymore, he wants to be her boyfriend, while Angel doesn't want to be tied down. As Joey pulls away, and Inggy tours colleges, Angel finds herself spending more time with Inggy's boyfriend, Cork. With its cast of vivid and memorable characters, this tale from the Jersey shore is sure to make some waves.

My Review:
I didn't know what to expect when I picked up Jersey Angel. It sounded like something I would enjoy, and it was. I enjoyed every minute of this story of a girl who learns to grow up. Beth Ann Bauman wrote a fantastic novel!
Angel Cassonetti is a free spirit. She's seventeen and pretty much lives on her own. She loves her littler brother and sister and wants more attention and affection from her father. While she may be going from guy to guy, she knows what she wants. She just isn't ready to settle.
I really enjoyed Jersey Angel. It was packed with the usual teenage issues: love, sex, promiscuity, pregnancy, friendship, honesty, and fidelity. While some scenes weren't PG, it didn't sway my opinion of the novel. I didn't want to put it down because Angel was such a wonderful character. She had some faults and issues to work through, but she was more than entertaining, she was real.
Overall, I think Jersey Angel is most definitely worth the read. While there are a few explicit sex scenes that aren't necessarily for the younger audiences, they were succinct. Sex is part of who Angel is; therefore, important to the story.
