They call her the DreamKiller.
Silent, stealthy, and above all, accurate, as long as she carries out exactly what her dreams predict. Marlena Gormand kills to protect. Herself. Her way of life. The children at Little Hearts Orphanage. Until she learns these are not the reasons she’s been asked to kill. Not at all.

Azura Mkesky is the headmistress of Little Hearts Orphanage and the only parent-figure Marlena remembers. Azura taught Marlena everything she knows, from her combat skills to her unswerving loyalty to their cause. And Azura has always been there for her. But Azura has a secret. One that she’s used and manipulated Marlena and everyone else in order to protect.

Lukas Hristov knows Azura’s heart is dark—from both personal experience and the visions provided by his Sight. For too long, he’s stood aside while Azura’s reach of power and deception expands. When he can take it no longer and emerges from the shadows, he comes face to face with Marlena. For him, she is where it began. And she is where it ends. He is determined to make this right, to make her believe the truth.

And as the story unravels, Marlena begins to question whose secrets her dreams really protect.

Heather Hildenbrand did it again! I absolutely love how quickly she can jump to the action. From page one I was hooked and tearing through the pages of DreamKiller. It was an alluring read that kept me captivated and dying to know how it would all end.

Since Marlena was a little girl she has had the gift to see her next kill while dreaming. She reports to Azura, the head of the orphanage and the one person Marlena looks to as a mother figure, every morning with her dreams and makes a plan to put her dream into action. Until one day when the truth of what she's doing is revealed.

DreamKiller is the mash up of all three novellas Heather wrote for The Specials Series. It was a super quick, fast-paced read that had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. While it was a relatively short book, it still packed the punch of a full length novel in half the pages. I felt like I still got to really know Marlena because of all the background information that unraveled throughout the story. Her tale was bittersweet and the ending left a huge happy grin on my face.

Overall, DreamKiller was a fantastic read that ended in a great place. For those of you who have read her Dirty Blood series, you will most definitely enjoy this book. For those of you who have never read Heather's books but would like a quick, easy read with a touch of paranormal abilities, this book is definitely up your alley.

Heather is a mother to two adorable children who are both so much like her, that she's scared of their teenage years and is open to six-figure offers from anyone who wants to handle the 13-17 age range.

She lives in coastal Virginia and works from home, part time, as a property manager. She writes YA paranormal romance and reads it, too, so if you know of a great book/series, feel free to suggest it to her. Some of her faves are Twilight, Hunger Games, and the Mortal Instruments series. #TeamJace #TeamPeeta #TeamJacobbutEdwardishottoo #AlsoImightbeaddictedtohashtags

When she's not writing or reading, she's chasing her kids around the house or lying on the beach, soaking in those delicious, pre-cancerous rays.

Heather love Mexican food, hate socks with sandals, and if her house was on fire, the one thing she'd grab is her DVR player.

You can find Heather...

In store. I need to smell the “new” smell to get the whole experience. It releases endorphins or something, I swear.
