I never meant for anyone to get hurt. All I wanted to do that night was make a play for Carter Wellesley. His heartless rejection was mortifying, but people got the wrong idea when they saw me leaving his bedroom, crying. That’s how rumors of rape started.
Now girls at school are pouring out their sympathy to me. Guys too. But not everyone’s on my side. The school has become a war zone and the threats are getting scary. What began as poetic justice has morphed into something bigger—forcing me to make a terrible choice. ~ From B&N

My Review:
In Too Deep has been a book at the top of my to read list and I'm thrilled that I finally got to read it. I was pulled in from page one and never wanted to put it down. Amanda Grace created a realistic story of what one lie, or rather one uncorrected rumor, can do.
It is senior year and all Sam wants is for her best friend, Nick, to see her as more than his best friend. So, she puts on a mini skirt and tries to get Carter's attention. Sadly, things don't go according to plan, rumors fly, and all to soon Sam finds herself in the middle of lie of epic proportions.
I really enjoyed reading this book and found myself getting really upset with Sam's choices as the story progressed. In the beginning, I would have done exactly what she did, but the longer she stayed quiet and things became worse, I began yelling at her. Yes, she is a character on a page and I yelled at her. Nick, on the other hand, is the epitome of a good guy and he did nothing but make sure she was okay. He was sweet and always there for her. Sadly, she didn't give him enough credit.
I liked that this book was realistic. There were some minor flaws in the realism, but if it were any other big lie, it would follow this basic path of escalation. What I didn't like was how easily Sam just went along with it once she knew. In this day and age rape isn't taken lightly. It isn't right to go along with the rumor of rape, if it didn't happen, you say something. I felt that Sam was too easily swayed by those who took interest in her well being.
Overall, there were flaws in some scenes, but the message was loud and clear and Sam got exactly what she deserved. This book was a great read and I highly recommend it.

This has been on my 'to read' list but i kept pushing it back, so thanks for the review and i look foward to reading it!
Even though you gave it a good review, I won't be reading this book. I just have this feeling that it would end up being thrown at the wall. HARD
