Bookish Diversion, originally Doodle's Book Blog, was created on January 24, 2012. After reading an extraordinary number books in less than a year and not being able to remember what happened in some, Emily decided to turn her love of reading into something productive. Now, she is working on rereading books that she read in 2011 while working in new releases, blog tours, and review requests. Not only does she get a sense of accomplishment and makes her mom happy by doing something besides just reading, she also get to help you, the reader, find books that will help you escape from your reality into an alternate world.
From February/March to December 2013 Bookish Diversion went on and off hiatus to deal with all the big things that were going on in Emily's life...like college graduation, supporting herself financially, moving, and joining the U.S. Army. In October 2013 Emily redesigned her blog to it's current theme and name.
In April 2018, Emily decided to take a stab at blogging once again finally finding downtime from Army Life.

My name is Emily and I'm a twenty-seven year old WVU graduate currently enlisted in the United States Army.
I love mint chocolate chip ice cream, pepperoni rolls, mac & cheese, chocolate chip waffles, and perogies. I love going to big cities just so I can go to museums and shop. I didn't read when I was growing up because of a bad experience on the bus ride home in third grade. Luckily, I found my way back to books in January of 2011.
I love reading but I have no interest in becoming a writer. I would go as far as to say that writing is my least favorite thing to do. That being said, one of my friends keeps fighting with me about my interest in writing. I'm sure at some point it may happen, but until those characters talk to me I'll stick to my "I hate writing" thoughts.
I graduated from West Virginia University on May 19, 2013 with a BS degree in Exercise Physiology. The time I spent there provided me with a ton of opportunities. I became a certified Aquatic Therapist in May of 2012 and published my first article on aquatic exercise and pregnancy in June of 2012.
When graduation was looming I spent most of my time teaching deep water running classes. All of the class participants asked what I was going to do with the rest of my life after I earned that very expensive piece of paper that said I was knowledgeable in my field. I told them I was joining the military. It's been almost seven years (as of 2018) since I figured out where I wanted to end up.
In November 2013 I went up for Selection for Officer Training School with the U.S. Army and was chosen to attend OCS after completing Basic Training in August 2014. However, In October 2014 I found out I had fractured my pelvis in 3 places and was sent to Advanced Individual Training as an enlisted soldier. In November 2017 I moved to Texas to change my job in the military, however it was during training that I found out I needed to have surgery on my left hip. I'm currently spending my days waiting on orders to my next duty station so I can have that surgery and recover. However, my career goal within the Army is to commission through Army Baylor School of Physical Therapy.

I like your blog! Care to connect? I was originally looking for book blogs that also do doodles (I'm not sure if you illustrate) but I like what I saw so far. :)
I don't really illustrate, just what I happen to draw on my notes and for my tattoos. I can draw to an extent, but it takes me a while to get to a final product that I find acceptable. Usually I draw snails, like the one I sign all my posts with, on my friends papers during class. I have a tattoo of a butterfly and a turtle at the moment and I'm working on some wings and words.
Great blog Emily. If you're at all interested in hosting authors for book tours, you should check out Virtual Book Tour Cafe. I'm on tour with them now and you'd make a great host...if it's something that interests you. Either way, nice blog and I'll be back to visit!
Love your blog! Cover whore over here too!
I love that you're an American who loves Mariana's Trench! I love them too, but I'm from Canada and a lot of people love them here!!
